The Daniel Beauty Difference

You will be treated while lying on the most luxurious and comfortable massage table that we have been able to find. It is electrically-operated; it not only moves up and down but we can also move the "head end" upwards and the "feet end" down.

To keep you warm, the massage table is covered with an electric blanket and we will also cover you with a heavy towel of the finest Egyptian cotton.

The massage table has an easily-cleaned, heavily-padded surface and a face hole that allows you to breathe easily while you are lying face down. We also use an orthopaedic pillow to correct the position of your body.

When you come to us for an hour's Sports Massage, that is exactly what you get: a whole hour of treatment.

If you visit some therapists, saunas or salons your hour's massage treatment will include 5 minutes at the start for getting undressed and onto the massage table, then another 5 or 10 minutes at the end for you to lie there quietly, come back into the real world and get dressed. Not so with us.

Your appointment consists of a whole hour of massage therapy. So please allow longer than an hour for your appointment, especially if it is your first time when we will
ask you to complete a health questionnaire.

What is Sports Massage?

It doesn't matter if you sit at a desk all day, dig the garden at weekends, or play sport at a high level, if you strain a muscle, the nature of the damage to tissues is the same, no matter how it happened.

The Sports Massage - or Deep Tissue Massage - techniques have been developed to ensure effective and efficient results are gained from each massage.

Sports Massage involves manipulating the soft tissues to give you a deep and invigorating massage treatment for muscular and joint aches and pains, while other techniques are used to help smooth out 'knotted' muscles. You certainly know that you have been massaged after a treatment.

A Sports Massage may involve treating your entire body as part of a training routine, or treating a specific area due to a particular muscle strain or injury. It is also used to help with aches and pains.

The Benefits of Sports Massage

When you come to me for an hour's massage, that is exactly what you get: a whole hour of Sports massage. When you go to some therapists, saunas and salons your hour will include 5 minutes at the start for getting undressed and onto the massage table, then another 5 or 10 minutes at the end for you to lie there, come back into the real world and get dressed. Not with us.

Your appointment consists of a whole hour of being massaged. So please allow longer for your appointment, specially if it is your first time here (when we will ask you to complete a health form).

If you routinely push yourself to physical limits, you can benefit from a Sports Massage or Deep Tissue Massage. If you are a sports person, massage can have an enormous impact on your performance; regular treatments can allow you to train to your full potential and recover to the best of your body's ability.

To ensure that your muscles are properly maintained, you should aim to have a good Sports Massage at least once a month and more frequently pre or mid-season.

Muscular tension, stress and fatigue can affect all of us, whether we're athletes, DIY fanatics, gardeners, busy housewives, or stressed executives.

Following energetic activity, you will have experienced soreness, strain, bruising, tightness, pain or weakness in your muscles.

Sports Massage or Deep Tissue Massage can improve the condition of your muscles and alleviate these symptoms.

Clients often report that they feel a greater sense of tranquility and balance after a treatment.

Shiatsu Massage

According to this ancient treatment, the body is covered with essential lines called meridians along which energy flows.

Shiatsu seeks to unblock these lines as energy is blocked, it causes dysfunction, pain and fatigue.

Swedish Massage

Swedish or holistic (whole of body) massage uses several styles of long, flowing strokes.

We use softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body, and stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage.
